Contributing to the local community

Ok, we're not full time bucket shakers, but we are committed to contributing to the local community. Round Table and our team of volunteers are involved in a number of worthwhile community projects to raise money for charity, help others and bring the Harrogate and District community together.

If you think we may be able to help your community group then please drop us a line. If we can help, we will. Simply complete our contact form and we'll get right back to you.

Bonfire, Beer Festival & Soap Box Derby

Our two largest events are the Stray Bonfire which celebrates its 44th year this year and the Harrogate Beer Festival. Both these events are organised and run solely by Harrogate Round Table to bring the community together and raise money for good causes locally.First launched in 2013, The Soap Box Derby is our newest event and sees teams race decorated soap boxes down a hillside track in the Valley Gardens, Harrogate. The event takes place in August each year. Why not enter a team or come along as a spectator and join the fun?

Christmas Hampers

Each Christmas we produce food hampers for distribution to the local community. They are given to the elderly, ill or other disadvantaged or potentially vulnerable people in the Harrogate area. We're always on the lookout for worthy recipients or donations of food to go in the hampers. If you can help in any way, we'd love to hear from you. Please complete our enquiry form and we'll get right back to you.

Community Activities

Perhaps not as high profile, but equally important is the contribution we make in other areas of community work. Community projects include helping the British Legion distribute poppies in November, organising a trip for disadvantaged local children and helping with marshalling at the Knaresborough Bed Race.
