"To further the objects and aims of the Round Table by meetings, lectures and other activities"
The Harrogate Round Table meets every 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of the month. The principal aim of these meetings is to further the aims and objects of the association of Round Tables - cultivating the highest ideals in business, establishing peace in international relations, and so on.
We did have a lecture a few years ago. We have a business meeting about every three months to talk about raising money and giving money away. But mainly we do the "other activities".
A few examples from the last couple of years
- The Leeds climbing wall
- Tour of John Smiths Brewery
- Feast of the Bean
- Gliding at Rushforth
- Paintballing
- Burn's supper
- Christmas Dinner
- A night at the races
- Pot holing near Pately Bridge
- Chairman's ball
- A gentle boat trip from Boroughbridge to Ripon
- Canoeing at Knaresborough
- Chinese cookery evening
Our programme of events broadens all our horizons, giving us chance to try our hand at activities we normally wouldn't get round to. Most evenings start with a pint and finish with a curry.
